For the price I am extremely happy with my ProForm 290 SPX Indoor Cycle Trainer. Okay, it’s nothing like a cycle trainer you would use at a gym but they cost thousands and have to take a pounding day and night. If you want a cycle trainer you can use when the weather’s bad or when you haven’t got time to go out, this is perfect.
It arrived ahead of schedule and the delivery company helped me in with it. All the parts were there. Unlike many home exercise machines the instructions are actually easy to follow with pictures and not in broken English. My brother helped me to put it together at the weekend and it took us under an hour. I was surprised how easy it was to move around using the transport wheels. It weighs 100 pounds and we had to move it into another room.
I changed out the seat to the (really expensive) one I bought for my real bike and the ProForm 290 is now really comfortable. The tension knob can take you from an easy ride to a real challenge quickly. It doesn’t have a heart monitor or a lot of the fancy gadgets that come with other machines but I knew I didn’t need them. From what I’ve read most of the heart monitors that come with exercise machines aren’t accurate anyway. Just my 2 cents.
